What does the word “bokeh” mean?
It’s a Japanese word that describes the blur created in a photograph. The word was popularized in 1997.
Why do we call ourselves “The Bokeh Studio”?
We have a lot of respect and love for bokeh. It seems a bit contradictory to try and create a blurrier photo, but bokeh used properly can add emphasis on the subject and create mood for the captured image. There are all types of bokeh out there that range from being creamy and smooth to nervous and jagged. You can see bokeh in the background and the foreground. The bokeh can be circular or even triangular. Bokeh is an awesome artistic tool and we can’t stop using it!
